The AAC is not the world’s easiest thing to define. It’s a group of people with a common interest: the English language. Other than that, it’s all about diversity and learning about other cultures.

People at the Stammtisch are typically Austrian students, expatriates working in Graz, foreign students here for a semester or longer, and of course their friends. (It’s best to visit the Stammtisch three or four times in order to really getting to know people, as the group is always different… just one visit is often not enough to get an idea of what it’s all about).

Long Night of Research

Later this week, the doors of Austria’s universities and research institutions will be opened to the public for the Lange Nacht der Forschung (the Long Night of Research). In Graz alone there are 20 locations and 177 “stations” planned, ranging from hands on experiments to displays and “Ask a scientist” sessions.

There are free shuttle buses planned to take you between the various participating institutes, and you can find a full list of the exhibitions on the website or check out the TV commercial (German):

Sei Neugierig – Entecke Technik – Erlebe Forschung – see you there!
