  Speed-Friending

Description: Speed-Friending is a fun variation on the “speed dating” model with the intentions of simply meeting new friends in Graz! We’re just looking to support the International community of Graz – Austrians and others alike. Find a pal to play tennis with, a mate to go for movies with, or just widen your network of friends!
How does it work? – You check in with registration, and then we assign you a random starting station number as a Mover or Stationer. That will also be your raffle number. Until we fill all the stations, you can chat with your first speed-friend buddy, mingle around and grab a drink. Once we’re ready to start, we’ll ask everyone to go back to their stations.The bell will signal for Movers to move to the next station – quick! Then you get four minutes to chat it up with your new buddy.
The idea is to just have a short conversation with each person. You’ll get a sheet of paper with the station numbers to “take notes” on your chat buddies. When the Speed-Friending is over, you can continue your conversations at the bar and hang out all night!
Throughout the game, we’ll also be drawing station numbers for raffle prizes. You could win a pair of tickets to the movies or a show, or free time at a sports center – all prizes you can share with your new found friends.
Afterwards, we’ll send out an email with everyone’s first name, original station number & email address from registration. (Of course you have the option not to release your information if you choose.) Easy enough!
Weinstrasse Trip 2006

Location: We leave in front of the opera house and take a bus to the beautiful South of Styria.
Costs: 10€ per person.
Description: It's that time of year again. Autumn is upon us and fresh Sturm and chestnuts are now in season... We have booked a coach for 50 people. It will leave at 1.30pm on Saturday, 21st October. Please don't be late! Meeting place: Franz-Graf Allee in front of the Graz Opera. First we go to Buschenschank Franz Zach in Ligist. Then at 6pm we make our way onto Buschenschank Lazarus and others in the area. The coach will return to Graz at approx. 11.30pm. If you would like to register your name on the list, just e-mail either Rhys or Kay. Your place is only fixed when you pay the 10.00 €.

Guided Tour through Schloss Eggenberg, Graz/Eggenberg

Description: Anita is so friendly as to offer us a guided tour through Schloß Eggenberg in English! This tour through the so-called Prunkräume takes about 50 minutes but can also be extended to the Alte Galerie , which would take around 1 1/2 hours. A tour costs 2,50 € for students. The tour is availabe at 10, 11, 12, 14, 15 and 16 Uhr, on the following dates: Thursday, July 6; Saturday, July 8; Tuesday, July 11; Sunday, July 16; Please write an e-mail to me personally an tell me if you're interested and what date/time you'd pefer as I'd have to book the tour beforhand!! AACSC Quiz Nights

Description: Every now and then, we'd like to invite you to take part in the AACSC Quiz. Come to the Stammtisch, find out who your team members are and go for the gold! For the team with the highest scores after three exciting, brain-dazzling quiz rounds, there will be vouchers for a drink of your choice in Prince Charles Pub! The AAC Quiz takes place on an irregular basis, so watch out for the announcement on the mailing list! By the way: Everyone is invited to contribute a quiz round or two, just contact Sonja or Hedi for further questions!
Guided Tour through ORF Steiermark, Graz/St. Peter

Dee's Skating Club
Sometimes Dierdre Dooey organises inline skating lessons and events on Saturdays during the warm season. Announcements that provide precise information about where and when the skating takes place are sent to the AAC Students Club mailing list. The Suedsteierische Weinstrasse Trip, 2005

Location: in Franz-Graf Allee in front of the Graz Oper where the last Weinstrasse bus departed.
Description: Building on the success of last year's successful Weinstrasse event, (Co-)President Rhys Lloyd (dis)organized yet another amazing Weinstrasse trip. This year's event involved a sold-out, packed bus, 50 people, drinking all the Sturm out of every Buschenschaenke in the Steiermark. The Debut of a new CD, Keith by Rob Cheese

Description: Rob Cheese presented his amazing new CD called Keith. A live concert was performed in The Offce pub, Trautmannsdorfgasse on Friday 4th March. The new CD should be available for sale at Kahstner und Öhler. You can support your local Styrian Musicians by purchasing a copy. This event was organized by the Cheese Brothers and was a smashing success. There was standing room only in the Office Pub.
The Amazing Super Bowl XXXIX

Description: The Office broadcasted the amazing Super Bowl XXXIX starting on Sunday 6 Feb 2005 sometime around 23h. The Super Bowl (American Football) is the most viewed sporting event in North America each year. Advertising can cost somewhere beyond 2 million U.S. dollars for only 30 seconds of air time. This year the New England Patriots (Vice-President Dr. Bob's home team!) squared off against the Philadelphia Eagles. And the New England Patriots won! This is one event you didn't want to miss! Suedsteierische Weinstrasse Trip, 2004
On October 30th 2004, the AAC student club successfully conquered the Weinstraße in Südsteiermark. A bus full of 50 people forced a minimum of one Buschenschänke to run out of Sturm. The amazing event was organized by Paula Soppit and President Rhys Lloyd.
